Amelia Evans Quartet

Join award-winning vocalist Amelia Evans and her quartet for an evening of old and newly composedmusic inspired by the previous year. Featuring Max Teakle (Piano), Blakely McLean Davies (DoubleBass) and Alex Spicer (Drums), AEQ seeks to combine vocal jazz artistry and improvisation with original, contemporary works and timeless standards. Influenced by artists such as Pat Metheny, Joni Mitchell and Radiohead, Evans’ original music captures her love for story-telling and modern

songwriting, whilst honouring the jazz tradition. As finalist in the 2020 Wangaratta Festival of Jazz & Blues National Jazz Awards, Amelia has recorded and appeared on stage with local and international artists such as Terri-Lyne Carrington, James Morrison, Linda Oh, Ari Hoenig, Tim Ries and Bob Sedergreen. Amelia has also performed with various ensembles at iconic venues such as Hamer Hall and the Melbourne Recital Centre, and at high-profile events such the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Stonnington Jazz Festival and the Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival.
